Can I just fly to Miami and walk in the the door at
Bascom Palmer and get a consultation and treatment without waiting
a long time?

You must make an appointment with Bascom Palmer. I will be
happy to answer any questions you might have. If you are
interested in coming to the US for cataract surgery, you can
also check with our group - Center for Excellence in Eye Care,
which is based out of Baptist Hospital in Miami. I take care of
many patients from South America at our office, and as well
teach the young doctors at Bascom Palmer how to perform cataract
surgery.
We live in Cali, Colombia, South America. With all the *wonderful*
Opthamologists here, I have *NO* idea why you want to have treatment at
Bascom Palmer in Miami. One of our friends had surgery here in Cali, to
fix a detached Retina problem in both eyes, that was screwed up in
Miami. Another friend of ours here and his wife have Macular
Degeneration. They went to Bascom Palmer 2 or 3 years ago. As he told
me, they might as well have put the US$400 into the toliet. A doctor
there spent about 10 minutes with them. If you do end up going to
Miami, make an appointment with them and ask them if they have a lower
fee schedule, for people who do not live in the USA. Good luck with
