Cataract question

Question:
The point is they don't consider it eligible, "ripe" or whatever becasue it doesn't have the usual cataract symptoms. All they hear is me complaining of a "ghost" image and they can't measure that on whatever device it is they use for establishing a criteria for an operable situation. So, does anybody know how I should proceed to get an IOL implant?

Answer:
I haven't heard of ghost images as a typical symptom of a cataract. I developed ghost images AFTER my cataract surgery. They only occur in special circumstances and are not generally a problem.

Someone else suggested that your problem (and mine) results from uneveness in the cornea. In that case, removing the cataract won't help you. My advice would be to get some second opinions but not to try to diagnose yourself and then shop for someone who will do the surgery.

It is possible that some other solution can be found to your problem if it is diagnosed properly. But if it is not too bad, it may be better just to live with it.
