Ten Common Sense Reasons Why You SHould Not Have Lasik

Question:
My doctor didn't see them at 19 months post-op, maybe they were there when he put me through the microkeratome? Or, if that is not the case, perhaps the cataracts were caused by Lasik? Or, they came on quicker than if I'd not had Lasik?

Answer:
If you refuse to accept independent peer-reviewed studies that show there is no direct connection between refractive surgery and cataracts, then you will never know even though the knowledge is available.

Since you do not accept the studies I have cited, let's use an exercise in common sense.

If refractive surgery caused or accelerated cataracts, then it seems logical that it would do this for all people who have had refractive surgery. If refractive surgery caused cataracts, then we would be seeing a lot of refractive surgery patients in their 20s and 30s developing cataracts. This has not happened.

Studies or common sense come to the same conclusion, refractive surgery does not cause cataracts.
