Multifocal lens implants for cataracts

Question:
Has anybody had their cataracts fixed by implanting a multifocal lens (IOL) rather than the traditional monofocal lenses?

If so, how do you like them?

Answer:
I am 40 and developed cataracts very rapidly over the last summer. My right eye went from no cataract symptoms in May to correctable to no better than 20/100 in July. My left eye has remained mostly unchanged with only slight cataract symptoms. I was very concerned about my close vision because I am a computer programmer and do a lot of reading both on and off screen. When I looked into the Array Multifocal IOL, I was somewhat put off by all of the potential side effects and possible visual anomalies. Still, the lure of both close and far vision was too powerful and I elected to have the Array Multifocal IOL anyway.
