Answer:
I would definitely stay away fro any of the so-called "multifocal" design IOLs. And
I'd make sure the surgeon had at least a couple hundred cataract procedures under
his belt.
I go to the guy myself (I figure he can't really hurt me by doing field
and IOP tests and peering at my retinae, and he's probably done thousands
of cataract operations, but there's no way on earth I'd let him cut me.
He's pretty close to retirement, maybe a bit overdue...
