Eye drops for Cataracts (new)

Question:
Has anyone tried a product called OcuZyme for treatments of cataracts? It is claimed that these eye drops will dissolve existing cataracts and has been used in Europe and Russia and is now available over the counter in this country.

Answer:
This sounds scary. The doctor must be incompetent, since any kind of cataract can be removed surgically. So far as I know, there are no eye drops that will work for this purpose,.and any claimed to do so may be dangerous. I'll see if I can find out something about this drug, though. One of the claimed uses for this product is for presbyopia, loss of accommodation with age. I have never heard of the use of eye drops for this purpose before, so I wouldn't be surprised if their claims are exaggerated, at least some of them.
