Question:
I just had my cataract removed yesterday with a new lens installed . The Eye Dr
.said all went very well. No problems. I wore a patch for 27 hr's and went to
see him the follwing day for a post exam. I still can't see very well after he
took off the patch. The Dr. said the cornea was cloudy. Is this cloudy
bussiness just from just having the operation or what ?The Dr. said it should
clear up in a couple of days. I have to put in drops Four times a day. Anyone
one out there have this happen?
Answer:
As your physician noted, it is very common for the cloudiness
(edema) to last for a few days. Also, don't expect the vision
to be crystal clear after that; I'm sure the surgeon mentioned
it will take a few wks before a final refraction is done for new
glasses. That's why post-operative cataract surgery for follow-ups
are important- to ensure no complications.
