Can someone describe his or her experience with cataract surgery? Can you
see well the same day? Is it reasonable to plan the procedure for a Friday
morning and expect to be back at work on Monday?

I write as a near-sighted layman (not a doctor) who has had
cataract surgery in one eye with an intra-ocular lens (IOL)
implanted in that eye, and vision corrected to better than
20/20. What follows are my own opinions. Always consult and
